AAUP Loyola Maryland meets monthly during the academic year. We have recently spoken out in support of the principles of academic freedom and shared governance (see statements below) and also sponsor monthly “Faculty Friday” happy hours.
We regularly advocate AAUP positions in the Academic Senate, as when we supported a motion (which passed) granting full time, non-tenure track faculty greater rights within academic departments. We are currently focused on ensuring that Loyola’s Operational Excellent Initiative respects academic freedom and faculty governance.
We are in the process of rebuilding our chapter following the Covid-19 Pandemic and are focused on recruiting new members. Please consider joining us by simply coming to one of our meetings or submitting your annual dues. Doing so will grant you access to our e-mail list and Teams site.
We want to be responsive to the needs of the Loyola Maryland community. If you have an issue or concern that you believe should attract the attention of AAUP, please let us know by e-mail or by filling out this brief form.
